Statement of Principles

Equality Policy:

STC is committed to the principle of equal opportunities and aims to ensure that all current and potential participants, trainers and employees are treated fairly and equally regardless of gender, age, disability, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, marriage and civil partnership, gender reassignment or social status. 

 

Feedback and complaints:

STC welcomes feedback but any issues should be discussed with the instructor before the end of the course. The instructor will do everything in their power to resolve any difficulties, but if a solution cannot be found, the matter can be discussed with the Director, Cornelia Schifter. All complaints will be dealt with within 7 days. If a problem or complaint arises during an RYA course that cannot be resolved by the instructor or Cornelia Schifter, the owner, it is recommended to contact the RYA at training@rya.org.uk. RYA reception at 023 8060 4100, Ensign Way, Hamble-le-Rice, Southampton SO31 4YA.

 

Safeguarding policies and procedures:

STC does not offer courses for minors. Participants for courses must be 18 years or older. In exceptional cases and by prior arrangement with STC, a minor may be accompanied to the course by a parent or guardian.

STC is committed to protecting children participating in our events from physical, sexual or emotional harm, neglect or bullying. We recognize that the safety, welfare and needs of the child are paramount and that all children, regardless of age, disability, race, religion or belief, gender, sexual or gender identity or social status, have a right to protection from discrimination and abuse.

 

New instructors:

All new instructors must read and sign the Policy Statement and Action Plan. Any changes must also be signed.
